The One With A Dead Mouse

I wrote that text to my husband early last week: Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 10.19.53 AM.png                      Then a few days later I wrote this:Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 10.19.14 AM.png

Then three days after that I wrote this: Screen Shot 2016-07-05 at 10.02.46 AM.png

And that my friends, is REAL LIFE WITH KIDS. We can all post pictures of perfectly smiled kids and art projects galore but at it’s core…it is hard, right? And sometimes if you don’t laugh about it you cry about it! But in all of it, having kids is an expression of joy and love…and it’s important to remember that.

I relate to Rob Bell when he says that our first role as parents is to ENJOY our children and at the same time it can be a real pain in the butt. But at it’s CORE, raising children is job number 2. The weight of responsibility as a parent is HUGE and because of that, it’s important to keep the light of joy…

Joy naturally seeks beyond itself and when we can find something to laugh and find something to enjoy about our kids today, it makes it easier to raise them because of our changed perspective.

Choose joy today.

And hopefully not with another dead mouse, FOR THE LOVE.
